MISTY FJORDS SCENIC FLIGHT AND CANOE JOURNEY
(Saxman Village Visit Included)

Visit the majestic Misty Fjords National Monument by Native canoe as our ancestors did in the 1800’s. Misty Fjords is a treasured national monument located in Ketchikan Alaska. It is visually spectacular with majestic waterfalls, bald eagles, and marine wildlife. We will see New Eddystone Rock (a volcanic spire coming up out of the sea), view an ancient tribal pictograph and 3,000 foot vertical cliffs rising above the stunning emerald waters.

Our excursion will begin with a van pick up from downtown Ketchikan (location to be determined) and a shuttle to Saxman Totem Village. Our Native guide will share with you a cultural introduction to our Native tradition and a stroll through 25 of the most spectacular totems in the world.   You will then van to Misty Fjords Air to board a Beaver floatplane to fly you to Rudyerd Bay viewing spectacular sights along the way to meet our canoe(s) and Native Guides.

As a paddler you will join our Native Canoe skippers and crew and paddle through the pristine waters and majestic fjords of Rudyerd Bay. As part of your journey through the Misty Fjords National Monument you will listen to Native songs, taste smoked salmon and learn the historical and geologic formations of this majestic land.   Feel and listen to the woosh of the paddle as it moves our traditional northern style canoe travels through the mirrored waters of Behm canal…this is truly an experience of a lifetime!

Be sure to bring your binoculars, camera and a warm waterproof jacket or coat as weather conditions cannot be guaranteed. Rain and colder conditions often greatly add to the natural beauty of the breathtaking Misty Fjords!
